Apple has released an update to its music recognition app, Shazam, which allows users to identify songs playing in other apps. This new feature will work with popular apps such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
To use the feature, users simply need to open Shazam, tap the blue button, and then switch back to the app they were using. The update also enables users to automatically add tagged songs to their Shazam playlist, as well as keeping a log of their previously tagged songs.
Since acquiring Shazam, Apple has integrated music recognition directly into Control Center on iOS for faster song tagging. The standalone Shazam app can still be used to view tag history and manage playlists. The update, version 15.36, is available for free on the App Store.
