Tata Group and IndiGo in Talks to Acquire Airbus SE Planes from Go Airlines India

India’s Tata Group and IndiGo, the country’s largest airline, are reportedly in talks to acquire Airbus SE planes from Go Airlines India Ltd. The carrier has filed for insolvency protection and has been instructed to halt ticket sales. Sources familiar with the matter claim that both the Tata Group and IndiGo are in separate negotiations with Go First’s lessors. This move comes as the aviation industry struggles to maintain profitable operations amid the pandemic. It is speculated that the addition of these aircraft will be beneficial to the Indian conglomerate, which currently operates its own airline, Vistara. However, no official comments have been made on the matter. The acquisition will be a major development for both the carriers and the industry, which is already witnessing a reshuffling of airline companies and their fleets in response to the pandemic’s impact.
