Twitter Introduces Minimum Ad Spend for Paid Verification Badges

Twitter Search Limited to Registered Users as Musk Hints Fleets Return

Twitter has informed advertisers that they must pay for verification or maintain a minimum monthly ad spend to advertise on the social media platform. Effective from Friday, only verified accounts, including individuals who subscribe to Twitter Blue for $8 a month and “verified organizations” who pay $1,000 for a gold or gray check mark, will be eligible to advertise, as per an email sent by the company. However, businesses that spend at least $1,000 per month on ads will still be permitted to advertise and receive a gold check mark.

According to the email, the modification to Twitter’s advertising guidelines is part of a broader effort to eliminate fake accounts and bots and “elevate the quality of content on Twitter and enhance your experience as a user and advertiser.
